Several haiku-adjacent verses about the simple things in my life.

I
child voices glee
at the soap bubble’s shimmer,
a bird’s trill

II
a chocolate orb
sits atop my sugar cone,
chilled passion

III
cat hunting,
attacks from beneath the chair
my ankle

IV
towering redwood,
dusting cobwebs off the eaves
of a summer cabin

V
our hands clasped,
through red camellia blooms
in my lover’s touch
